NCC & BGR Mining & Infra consortium has bagged the Talaipalli coal mine project from NTPC, vide letter of award (LoA) dated 13 November 2017.
The company has secured the project for mine development and operation.
A special purpose vehicle (SPV) will be formed between NCC and BGR Mining & Infra with a sharing ratio of 51:49. The SPV will execute the project. The coal production from this coal block is expected to begin in the FY 2019-20.
The value of the project is estimated at Rs 25,071 crore, to be executed over 25 years. And the annual revenue at rated capacity is around Rs 1,000 crore at the current price.
The coal block is located in Gahrbhoda tehsil, in Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh. The coal obtained from this block will be put to captive use for the 4,000 MW Lara integrated power project being established by NIPC.
The total over burden to be removed is around 1,739 MBCM and the coal to be extracted is 404 million tonne. The project duration is for 27 years, including two years for development.
