Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh is set for a transformative industrial boom following significant investments announced at the CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam.
A total of Rs 6,815 crore in fresh investments are expected to create 4,800 new work opportunities, providing a substantial boost to the local economy. Key projects include JM Baxi Group’s Rs 3,000 crore logistics and port-based project, IndoSoul’s Rs 2,200 crore unit, and RCRT’s Rs 1,615 crore IT and infrastructure project. Local MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy emphasised that these investments will break the region’s industrial stagnation caused by past policies.
“Nearly 16 lakh jobs will be created state-wide. These are not just MoUs on paper—they are investments grounded in reality,” he said. The district is also anticipating announcements of new glass manufacturing units soon. Nellore has become one of the top beneficiaries of the record Rs 13.25 lakh crore in investments flowing into Andhra Pradesh, following the signing of 613 MoUs.
