B.S. Yeddyurappa, Chief Minister, Karnataka, is expected to inaugurate on 12
December 2009, ACC's cement manufacturing unit at Thondebhavi, Gauribidanur
taluk in Chikkaballapur district.
According to sources, ACC has installed a 1.66 million tonne cement grinding
unit at its greenfield project, which has entailed a cost of Rs 348 crore.
The power required for operating the new unit is likely to be wheeled through
the State grid from the company's captive power plant at Wadi in Gulbarga
district. The raw material required for the grinding unit, clinker and gypsum,
will also be procured from Wadi and Rajasthan, respectively.
