Work on the 1,320 MW (2x660 MW) coal based power project at Nalash village
near Rajpura in Patiala district of Punjab has commenced. Around 2 per cent work
on the plant has been completed.
The project entailing a cost of Rs 8,000 crore is spread over 2,000 acre.
L&T, Mumbai, bagged the order for developing the project in November 2009.
Power Finance Corporation is the consultant for the project which is likely to
be completed by December 2012.
