Northern Coalfields (NCL), a subsidiary of Coal India, expects to achieve its annual coal production target of 139 million tonne (MT) for the current financial year.
By February, NCL had already produced 128.13 MT and expressed confidence in meeting its goal. As a key contributor to India's energy needs, NCL supplies around 88 percent of its coal output to the power sector.
The company holds a 15 percent share in the country's total coal production, playing a crucial role in national power generation.
