The Odisha government has approved nine different investment proposals with an aggregate amount of Rs 1,177.41 crore. The proposals have received the state government's nod at the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA).
The investment proposals are for sectors such as sanitaryware, food processing, hospitality, electronics manufacturing and IT services. The project will create employment opportunities for 6,032 people.
Hindustan Sanitaryware Industries (HSIL) has proposed to set up 1,30,000 tpa unit to manufacture glass containers in Cuttack. The project will see an investment of Rs 350 crore. It will create employment opportunities for 1,200 people.
Approval was also given to the Om Oil and Flour Mills for setting up a greenfield project to manufacture spices, pasta, noodles, fruit-based beverages, ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat items at Ramdaspur at an investment of Rs 100 crore. The project will provide jobs for 1,560 people.
Omjay EV’s proposal to set up an electric vehicle manufacturing unit at Jajpur entailing an investment of Rs 52.41 crore has also got a nod. The unit will manufacture e-rickshaws and e-scooters with an installed capacity of 50,000 units per annum. The project will create direct and indirect jobs for 122 people.
The proposal by Hindalco to establish a coal gasification plant of 21,000 normal mtr cube per hour at Hirakud, Sambalpur, was approved by SLSWCA. The project will see investment to the tune of Rs 60 crore. It will generate employment for 20 people.
Mayfair Hotels and Resorts got a nod to set up a golf resort at Satapada in Puri with an investment of Rs 125 crore creating employment opportunities for 550 people.
Apart from this, two proposals in electronics and IT sector were also approved. Star GSM Upakaran Peripherals will invest Rs 75 crore to set up a unit to manufacture 10 lakh mobile handsets and accessories per annum and others at the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster at Infovalley on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. The unit generate both direct and indirect jobs for 1,300 people.
C-TEL Infosystems, a Hyderabad-based software company proposed to set up a software centre to develop Internet of Things (IoT) software at the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Infovalley. An investment of Rs 65 crore will b made towards the project. It will create jobs for 730 people.
The SLSWCA approved Bharat Petroleum Corporation proposal to invest an additional Rs 250 crore to set up a lignocellulosic biomass ethanol bio-refinery plant of capacity 100 klpd at Bargarh. The employment potential of the project is 200 people.
HIL proposal to set up a manufacturing unit for production of agrochemicals of capacity 10,000 MT at Chhatrapur in Ganjam district with an investment of Rs 100 crore got a nod. Employment for 350 people will be created.
Moreover, SLSWCA also recommended two investment proposals in the steel sector entailing an aggregate investments of Rs 3,526 crore to the High Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) for approval.
