The government of Odisha has sanctioned eight investment proposals with investment to the tune of Rs 1,609.49 crore in the 89th State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting.
The projects will create employment opportunities for 1,450 people.
The projects were approved in food processing, chemicals, plastics, tourism, steel downstream and infrastructure.
SLSWCA approved the proposal of Tata Global Beverages to set up tea blending and packaging facility with annual capacity of 36,000 tonne, with an investment of Rs 83.53 crore. The project will provide employment to around 294 people.
Another proposal sanctioned was of Runaya Metsource for coal tar pitch (CTP) distillation unit of total 0.2 million tpa capacity, with additional investment of Rs 211 crore. The project will create employment for around additional 212 people.
Another proposal of Astra Polytechnik, for setting up unit-2 for HDPE and Thermoplastic pipes manufacturing unit of capacity 5,000 tonne for additional investment of Rs 60.06 crore, has also been approved by SLSWCA. It will provide an additional employment to around 150 people.
In the Tourism sector, a project by Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels for expansion of its 5-star hotel with an investment of Rs 150 crore has been approved. It will generate employment for 150 people. A proposal by Kamat Hotels (India) for expansion of its 5-star hotel also got a nod. It will see an investment of Rs 52 crore and provide an additional employment to around 160 people.
The proposal of Thriveni Earthmovers has also been given nod for setting up 30 million tpa underground Slurry Pipe Line, with a total investment of Rs 948.90 crore, which will create employment opportunities for 217 people.
SLSWCA has also approved the proposal of CDET Explosives Industries for setting up a manufacturing facility for cartridge explosives, bulk emulsion explosives, detonating fuse and caste boosters of capacity 45,300.00 tpa at an investment of Rs 55 crore. It will provide an additional employment opportunities for 177 people.
Another proposal of Apeejay Logistics Park has been approved to set up an expansion of the existing Logistics Park at Kalinga Nagar, with an investment of Rs 50 crore, which will create jobs for 90 people.
