Procter & Gamble (P&G) plans to invest Rs 2,000 crore in Gujarat for setting up an export hub in India focused on healthcare products.
The proposed fully-automated facility will be spread over 5.3 lakh sq. ft. area and would manufacture products in the digestive wellness space. Further, the design will incorporate the modern concept of Industry 4.0.
The new unit marks an addition to P&G India’s existing plant in Sanand, Ahmedabad, which has been operating since 2015, as well as a move to enhance its existing footprint of eight plants across the country, while moving from consumption to manufacturing as well as long-term prospects in India.
Over the last decade, the Tide detergent maker has infused over Rs 8,200 crore for successful operations in India.
The company clocked a profit of Rs 1,334 crore for FY22 across P&G Health, shaving products maker Gillette, P&G Health & Hygiene and P&G Home Products.
