Prakash industries, power, steel and mining company, is planning to invest Rs
3,300 crore for expansion. Of the total, around Rs 2,500 crore will be utilised
on power projects.
The company has the capacity to generate 100 MW of power, mostly for internal
consumption, and is expanding this to 650 MW through its plant in Chhattisgarh
in five phases, which is likely to be completed in four years. Out of the total
power generated, the company is likely to sell 450 MW to other states and
private players.
