The District Collector has reviewed the progress of the Pulivendula Water Grid works at the district camp office, expressing satisfaction over the near completion of the project aimed at ensuring uninterrupted drinking water supply.

Kadapa Collector Sreedhar Cherukuri said the scheme had been carefully planned and largely executed to meet the water needs of both rural and urban areas in the Pulivendula constituency, with most components already operational. He instructed officials to complete the remaining pending works within the first week of the month to avoid any shortages. Emphasising urgency, he asked departments to mobilise additional resources if required and ensure the project is ready for inauguration.

Taken up under the Centre’s Jal Jeevan Mission at a cost of Rs 480 crore, the Water Grid is designed to supply 135 litres of safe drinking water per person per day. The project will serve a population of 5.36 lakh across 299 habitations in 109 Gram Panchayats. “All pending works must be completed without further delay,” the Collector said.
