1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

Punjab presents budget for 2010-2011

Manpreet Singh Badal, Minister for Finance, Punjab, on 16 March 2010 presented the annual budget of Rs 33,405.06 crore for the year 2010-11.

A budgetary allocation of Rs 50 crore has been made for construction of judicial complexes while Rs 6 crore has been allocated for improving general administration infrastructure.

The minister has proposed a grant of Rs 13 crore for development of rural sports and other infrastructure including Rs 17 crore for astro turf ground at Government Barjindra college Faridkot.

An amount of Rs 264 crore has bee earmarked for providing potable drinking water in villages, for urban infrastructure Rs 971 crore have been earmarked.

The ministry has proposed grant of Rs 355 crore for primary education infrastructure, Rs 200 crore for mid-day meal programme, Rs 120 crore for secondary schools, Rs 79 crore for edusat, construction of schools in educationally backward areas Rs 60 crore, girls’ hostels in secondary and senior secondary schools Rs 40 crore and Rs 4 crore for adult education.

Another Rs 30 crore will be spent for new degree colleges, Rs 20 crore for Rajiv Gandhi Law University and Rs10 crore for government colleges of Sunam, Mohali, Sardulgarh, Bathinda and Science college Kauni adn Mukatsar has been earmarked.

The ministry has proposed to enhance cess on electricity from 1 to 3 percent. It will help generate Rs 270 crore additional revenue. The ministry also proposed to reduced entertainment tax from 125 percent to 25 percent and waive off entertainment tax on theatre/drama.
