On 29 December, 2025, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, during a review meeting with the Water Resources Department (WRD), directed officials to accelerate ongoing irrigation and water development projects.
This includes the Ramjal Setu Link Project, ensuring completion within the scheduled timelines. The project, which will significantly enhance water supply reliability, was highlighted as key to meeting the needs of a large population. Officials reported progress on related work, such as coffer dams and drainage channels at the Ramgarh and Mahlpur barrages.
In addition to the ongoing projects, new initiatives worth Rs 14,600 crore, including key water link projects across various regions, are set to begin soon. These efforts aim to improve water sources, storage capacity, and management systems across the state.
