The Rajasthan government has approved two major drinking water projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission, aimed at benefiting four districts.
The projects, costing Rs 5,184 crore, will provide regular drinking water supply to households in Kota, Bundi, Jhalawar, and Baran districts. The Nonera project, costing Rs 1,661.14 crore, will cover 749 villages and six towns in Kota and Bundi, reaching 1,13,287 families. It includes the construction of water treatment plants, reservoirs, and pipelines, along with 14 pumping stations.
The Parwan-Akawad project, approved for Rs 3,523.16 crore, will serve 907 villages in Baran, 184 villages in Kota’s Sangod constituency, and 311 villages in Jhalawar. The project will also include water treatment plants, reservoirs, and a 661km transmission pipeline across these areas. Both projects are expected to be completed by August 2027, significantly improving access to clean water under the state's Jal Jeevan Mission.
