The Karnataka government has approved Reliance Group’s Rs 1,622 crore Campa Cola cold beverages bottling project in Vijayapura district, Industries Minister MB Patil announced.
The facility, to be set up on 100 acres in Mulawada Industrial Area Phase-2, is expected to generate 1,200 direct jobs and strengthen the region’s industrial base.
During a review meeting, Minister Patil highlighted cumulative investment proposals of Rs 17,000 crore for his home district. Wings Vitera will invest Rs 350 crore in food grain processing, Suzlon Rs 360 crore for wind turbine blades, and Poddar plans a CVC/PVC pipe unit. The renewable energy sector leads, with ReNew Power committing Rs 4,700 crore, Arsolec Rs 4,000 crore, and Hecla Climate Rs 8,000 crore. Interest spans 30 FMCG firms, 25 solar companies, 15 textile units, and over 20 ventures in ethanol, chocolate, and cold beverages.
Three other approved projects include Zenfold Biosciences, Astral Coatings, and Wipro Hydraulics. Officials from the Industries Department and KIADB attended the approvals meeting, marking a major milestone in Vijayapura’s industrial expansion.
