Orissa Integrated Power, a wholly owned subsidiary of Power Finance Corporation (PFC), has invited RfQs for development and operation of 4,000 MW Orissa Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP), in Sundargarh district of Orissa.
The 4,000 MW Orissa UMPP near Bhedabahal village is a coal-fired pit head power project to be set up on DBFOT basis. The coal for the project will be sourced from the coal blocks, namely Meenakshi, Meenakshi B and dip side of Meenakshi in IB Valley coalfield, by Ministry of Coal, for the project.
Earlier, PFC had scrapped the initial bids received from 20 power companies for setting up the UMPP, after finalising the new Standard Bidding Documents (SBDs), for the upcoming power plants.
