M K Stalin, Deputy Chief Minster of Tamil Nadu, on 28 March 2010, inaugurated
Sanmina-SCI Corporation's manufacturing facility at SIPCOT Industrial Park in
Oragadam in Chennai.
The newly inaugurated facility spread over 100 acre is to have a capacity to
annually manufacture products worth nearly $500 million (approx Rs 2,000 crore).
The facility is likely to offer original equipment manufacturer customers
services ranging from design and engineering, supply chain management, printed
circuit board assembly and full systems assembly.
The company has spent over Rs 250 crore in the new facility as against the
committed investment of Rs 225 crore to the state government during the signing
of the MoU with it in June 2007.
