Shakti Pumps (India) has secured a letter of empanelment from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) for deploying 34,720 Off-Grid DC solar photovoltaic water pumping systems (SPWPS) across Maharashtra.
The initiative, under the Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana and PM-KUSUM B scheme, is valued at Rs 1,037 crore (inclusive of GST). The scope of work includes design, manufacturing, supply, transportation, installation, testing, and commissioning of the SPWPS.
The letter of empanelment remains valid for one year, with the overall project to be completed within this period. Installation for each pump is mandated to be finished within 60 days from the date of issuance of the notice to proceed (NTP), work order, or Joint Site Report (JSR) approval by the respective circle office.
The project aims to provide farmers with sustainable, off-grid solar-powered irrigation solutions, reducing dependence on conventional electricity and promoting renewable energy adoption in agriculture.
