Shyam Metalics and Energy’s (SMEL) step-down subsidiary, Ramsarup Industries (RIL), has successfully commissioned a modern blast furnace and linear sinter plant on 30 December, 2025.
The new facility, which has officially started commercial production, is a key milestone in expanding the subsidiary’s manufacturing capabilities. This development is aimed at strengthening RIL’s market position in the steel sector. The Modern Blast Furnace has a production capacity of 0.45 million tonne per annum (MTPA), significantly boosting steel production output. The plant is designed with sustainability in mind, featuring a zero process water discharge system to enhance efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
This project is part of a Rs 369 crore investment, integrating advanced technologies such as modern coal injection and energy recovery systems. SMEL, a leading integrated metal producer in India, continues to expand its operations, spanning iron pellets, sponge iron, TMT bars, and stainless steel production.
