Siemens India plans to make India a major hub for its 'green energy'
business. The company has entered into partnership with the Adani Group for a
foray into solar power. It has also planned to set up a wind energy turbine
plant in Baroda, Gujarat.
Siemens plans to pump in around Rs 430 crore for Phase I of the Baroda
project, having a capacity of 250 MW. The plant is likely to be completed by
2012. It intends to raise capacity in Phase II to about 500 MW.
Meanwhile, Siemens will invest more than Rs 1,600 crore in India over the
next three years towards renewable energy projects.
