Simhapuri Energy, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Madhucon Projects, has begun commercial operations of the Phase I of its coal based power plant in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh.
The company is expected to add another unit of 150 MW by June 2012. It expects to complete the implementation of Phase II of 300 MW during 2012.
The company is developing the 1,920 MW Simhapuri project in three phases. The Phase I and Phase II have two units of 150 MW each and the Phase III has two units of 660 MW. The project is based on imported coal.
