Sun Pharmaceutical has announced a Rs 500 crore investment to establish a new manufacturing plant in Assam, which is expected to generate over 500 direct employment opportunities.
The project will be implemented in two phases, with the focus on drug formulation manufacturing units aimed at serving the domestic requirements. Chief Secretary Ravi Kota confirmed the investment and shared details after a meeting with senior officials from the pharmaceutical company. CS Kota highlighted that key aspects of the project, such as land, water, power, connectivity, and access to skilled manpower, were thoroughly discussed.
Sun Pharmaceutical is committed to sustainable manufacturing practices, with plans to focus on efficient water use, renewable energy adoption, and responsible waste management. This approach aligns with environmental and regulatory standards, ensuring long-term sustainability.
