Sweden-based firm, Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget (SCA) is expected to start production at its India plant next year.
The global hygiene and forest products company is setting up a plant at Ranjangaon, near Pune. Construction work at the plant is almost over, with likely completion by early 2015.
The plant, spread over 30 acre of land, is being set up with an investment of over Rs 150 crore. The land has been taken on 99-year lease from the Maharashtra government.
SCA will manufacture products such as tissues and diapers including those for adults, from the Pune plant.
SCA offers baby diapers and other baby care products globally, under the brands Libero, Drypers, Pequenin and Treasures.
