TIL is planning to set up facilities for manufacturing port, road building and, material handling equipments in India.
The company will be investing Rs 600 crore for the purpose. TIL will manufacture these equipments under technical collaboration with Astec Hester and, Manitowac of the US and Mitsui. First facility will come up on 165 acre at Changual in Kharagpur in the Medinipur district of West Bengal at an investment of Rs 120 crore. It will manufacture crushing and screening products for aggregate and mining applications. The other facility will come up on 104 acre at the Vidyasagar Industrial Complex in Kharagpur where ‘Reachstacker' and forklift trucks will be made. Both the facilities are slated to go on stream in 2015.
