1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

Tamil Nadu to set up two gas-based combined-cycle power plants

The Tamil Nadu government will set up two gas-based combined-cycle power plants with a capacity of 730 MW each. The move will help Chennai to meet the increasing demand for power and also ensure the provision of electricity infrastructure for the future. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 5,000 crore.

 

A detailed project report (DPR) will be prepared as part of Phase-I. The pollution control equipment will be installed in five thermal power plants in the state. Moreover, a high voltage distribution system will be installed at an investment of Rs 500 crore to reduce the HT/LT ration.

Apart from this, electric lines covering around 100 km will be laid underground in the Cauvery delta districts at a cost of Rs 300 crore. Also, an amount to the tune of Rs 510 crore will be spent on installing three sub-stations with a capacity of 230 kV at Vembakkam in Tiruvannamalai district, Nallur in Namakkal district and Nanguneri in Tirunelveli district.

An announcement was also made for setting up 110 kV sub-stations at A R S Garden in Chennai district, Tiruvaiyaru in Thanjavur district, Poothamedu in Villupuram district, Kaikalathur in Perambalur district, Sengathurai in Coimbatore district and Aadaiyur in Salem district.

The project will entail an investment of Rs 135 crore. An amount worth Rs 380 crore will be earmarked towards setting up 33/11 kV sub-stations in 47 places, and 69 additional transformers will be installed in some of the existing 33/11 kV sub-stations.

A total of Rs 163.45 crore will be spent on building classrooms, science labs, libraries, arts and handicrafts rooms, computer rooms, drinking water facilities, perimeter walls and 5,726 ramps. Also, a total of 2,899 schools will be equipped with CCTV cameras at a cost of Rs 21.71 crore.
