The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) has accorded environmental clearance (EC) to Tata Chemicals for soda ash plant and captive power plant located at Devbhumi Dwarka district in Gujarat.
The capacity of soda ash plant will be augmented from 10,91,000 tpa to 13,16,000 tpa and captive power plant from 85 MW to 125 MW. The existing plant area spans 231 ha of land and no additional land will be required for proposed expansion.
Out of the total project area, green belt will be developed in 131 ha. The estimated project cost is Rs 1,042.07 crore with a recurring cost (O&M) of Rs 16.29 crore per annum.
The power requirement will be increased from 62.97 MW to 92.60 MW, proposed to be met from own captive co-generation power plant.
