Telangana is one of the 11 States and Union Territories (UTs) to achieve full tap water connectivity for all rural households under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), as announced by the Ministry of Jal Shakti (MoJS).
The Ministry highlighted that along with Telangana, other regions like Goa, Haryana, Puducherry, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, and Arunachal Pradesh have also successfully implemented the mission, ensuring clean tap water to every rural home. As of 22 October, 2025, more than 15.72 crore rural households in India now have access to household taps, marking a significant milestone towards universal water security.
The Central government has provided substantial financial support, with Rs 2,08,652 crore allocated and effectively utilised under the initiative.
