The Sangli Miraj & Kupwad City Municipal Corporation (SMKMC) has issued a tender for the construction and implementation of storm water drainage works aimed at urban flood mitigation.
This initiative is part of the Maharashtra Resilience Development Project (MRDP), which focuses on enhancing the city's resilience against flood-related challenges. The order targets improved storm water management across Sangli, Miraj, and Kupwad to reduce the risk of urban flooding during heavy rainfall.
The works will involve designing and building efficient storm water drainage infrastructure to safeguard vulnerable urban areas, minimise waterlogging, and improve overall urban living conditions. It aligns with the state's broader goals of sustainable urban development and disaster risk reduction by upgrading critical infrastructure and enhancing the Municipal Corporation's capacity to manage natural hazards.
The bid submission deadline is 23 September, 2025.
