Thermax has entered into a JV agreement with Babcock & Wilcox Power
Generation Group, Inc. on 10 March 2010 to engineer, manufacture and supply
supercritical boilers for the Indian power sector. The JV will also manufacture
sub-critical boilers over 300 MW in size.
Thermax will own 51 per cent of the JV while Babcock & Wilcox will have a 49
per cent ownership.
The supercritical boilers are likely to be manufactured in a new facility
being planned by the companies. The plant will have an annual capacity of 3,000
MW in Phase I.
