The Uttar Pradesh government has presented a budget of Rs 5,12,860.72 crore in the state assembly for FY21.
The size of the budget is Rs 33,159 crore more than the budget tabled in FY20 and has provisions worth Rs 10,967.87 crore for new schemes.
An amount of Rs 200 crore was embarked towards expansion and beautification of Kashi Vishwanath temple, and Rs 180 crore for setting up a cultural centre in Varanasi.
The budget proposed a law university in Prayagraj and Ayush university in Gorakhpur. Apart from this, three new universities will come up in Saharanpur, Azamgarh and Aligarh.
An allocation of Rs 1,200 crore was made towards Mukhyamantri Jan Kalyan Shiksha Protsahan Yojna and Rs 5,791 crore for Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM).
The budget proposed Rs 20,000 crore for Smart City Project in Lucknow, Kanpur and other districts of the state. An amount of Rs 2,000 crore was allocated for Ganga Expressway, from Delhi to Prayagraj, Rs 170 crore for flyovers, bypasses, intersections in cities and Rs 900 crore for Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System.
The budget provided Rs 200 crore for Metro facilities in Gorakhpur and other cities, Rs 358 crore allocated for Kanpur Metro.
An amount of Rs 4,000 crore has been allotted for Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan, Rs 621 crore for Divyang Pension Yojna, Rs 292 crore for Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana.
An allocation of Rs 820 crore has been made towards Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute (SGPI), Rs 187 crore to cancer institute, Rs three crore for cyber crime and Rs 10 crore for Agni Mission.
A budget of Rs 2,000 crore has been proposed for the Jewar International Greenfield Airport and Rs 500 crore for Ayodhya airport.
Every district in the state will have Yuva hub for youth employment; Rs 50 crore has been allotted for creating job opportunities and Rs 20 crore for Uttar Pradesh Police and forensic institute.
