The Uttarakhand Government is setting up two gas based power plants of 500 MW
each in partnership GAIL in Garhwal and Kumaon regions.
The power through these plants will be used mainly for industrial usages. For
this purpose, the state government has already urged the Union Government to
supply three mmscmd of gas to the state.
GAIL has agreed to bring gas to Garhwal region from Dadri-Bhatinda pipleline
from Saharanpur side.
