WAPCOS has invited bids for hiring a consultant agency to provide technical expertise for a water drawl study from the Mahanadi River in Korba district, Chhattisgarh.
The study will cover civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation aspects to identify the appropriate intake drawal point. The consultant's scope includes conducting hydrological and bathymetric surveys of the river and its tributaries, as well as gathering data for a geotechnical investigation to determine suitable locations for pump-out tests. It will also estimate water storage volumes during lean periods, perform topographical surveys of the riverbed and banks, and assess water availability based on various dependability levels.
Detailed engineering tasks include preparing a design basis report, selecting and sizing pumps, piping, and associated mechanical, electrical, and control systems. The project has a completion period of three months from the issuance of the letter of intent (LOI).
