Stove Kraft is engaged in setting the country’s first fully automated foundry for the production of cast iron cookware. The company will begin production trials in December and the foundry's products are likely to be launched in the markets by April 2024.
The Bengaluru-based manufacturer will invest a capex of Rs 55 crore to establish this foundry, which will melt and mould all kinds of cast iron cookware right from tawas, kadais and frying pans for Indian market, as well as numerous other types of cookware for foreign markets.
Furthermore, Stove Kraft is planning to ramp up its production and sales of water bottles and flasks. The company intends to expand its cast iron cookware industry to Rs 500 crore in five years. The owner of cookware brand Pigeon already has sizable orders from several new and existing worldwide cookware brands/retailers.
Currently, the company houses 100 exclusive Pigeon outlets, largely in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh, now it is expanding into Kerala and Tamil Nadu as well. It expects to operate 500 outlets by 2025 and is investing Rs 75 crore in store expansion efforts. It employs 5,500 people and expects at least 100 of these stores to be run by women entrepreneurs.
Stove Kraft has invested Rs 300 crore over the previous three years to improve its production capacity, manufacturing, and research and development (R&D) infrastructure. Stove Kraft Stove Kraft roped in DISA and Inductotherm to provide technical know-how as well as equipment supply and maintenance.
