Siti Energy, promoted by
the Zee TV Group, is planning to set up a 1,063 MW gas-based power plant in Sonepat district of Haryana. The project will
cost around Rs.3,500
crore.
The company is in an advanced stage
of signing a gas supply agreement for sourcing 5 mmscmd of gas. Work on the
project is likely to start soon after the GSA is formalized. Work on Unit I is scheduled for
completion within 30 months and Unit II in the next six months. The Haryana Government has assured
adequate land and water to set up the power plant.
The Zee TV Group will have at
least 51 per cent stake in the power project, it is learnt.
