NTPC plans to add 10 GW of installed power capacity in the next four years. NTPC’s main objective is to increase its capacity through supercritical power projects. NTPC has power projects with combined a power capacity of 22,414 MW under various stages under construction, of which 12,480 MW falls under the supercritical category.
From these projects, the 660 MW Barh II power plant is expected to be completed in FY15. While the Mouda II and Solapur power projects, of 1320 MW each, are estimated to be completed in FY17. As of July 2014, NTPC has a total installed power generation capacity of 43,128 MW, including 6,001 MW through other group companies.
