Jupiter International, a Kolkata-based solar cell maker, has launched its third solar cell manufacturing unit in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, marking a major milestone in its growth.
The new facility, developed by its subsidiary Jupiter Solartech, adds one GW of mono PERC capacity to the company's existing 959 MW base, bringing its total installed capacity to nearly two GW. Strategically positioned in Baddi, the unit focuses on high-efficiency mono PERC technology, meeting global quality and productivity standards. This expansion is expected to double the company’s local workforce, creating skilled roles and contributing to advanced solar manufacturing operations. As part of its long-term strategy, Jupiter is also setting up another 1.25 GW TOPCon solar cell line.
“The commissioning of unit-III at Baddi is a major milestone in our journey to scale the company’s solar manufacturing capabilities. This expansion reaffirms Jupiter’s commitment to our vision of delivering world-class clean energy technologies,” said Alok Garodia, Chairman and Managing Director.
