The Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) is setting a new benchmark in sustainable industrial growth through its green industrial model.

As part of its “Environmentally Conscious and Industrially Capable Uttar Pradesh” vision, UPSIDA is actively implementing advanced water management and solar energy solutions in key industrial zones. UPSIDA CEO Mayur Maheshwari announced that multiple wastewater treatment projects are underway. The Surajpur Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Gautam Budh Nagar is being upgraded with SBR technology (six MLD capacity) at a cost of Rs 899 lakh, with completion targeted for June 2026.

Similarly, the EPIP Kasna WWTP (3.6 MLD) is being upgraded for Rs 678.59 lakh. The Loni STP in Ghaziabad, based on MBBR technology, is fully operational at five MLD. Meanwhile, a major upgrade is planned for the CETP Loni plant—from six MLD to 16 MLD, with a Rs 42 crore DPR already in place.

UPSIDA aims to reuse treated water for cooling, gardening, flushing, and road washing, backed by new recycled water infrastructure. Rooftop solar panels are also being installed at treatment facilities to reduce energy costs and emissions. This initiative supports CM Yogi Adityanath’s “Clean Water, Clean Industry” and “Energy Self-Reliance” goals.
