Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) has secured a contract is valued at approx. Rs 2,800 crore, for the syngas purification plant (LSTK 2 Package) for Bharat Coal Gasification and Chemicals (BCGCL).

The company has received the letter of acceptance (LoA) from BCGCL, wherein the scope of work includes design, engineering, supply of equipment, civil works, erection, commissioning, and O&M services for the syngas plant. The order is to be completed within 42 months from the LoA date, with a 60-month operations & maintenance ( O&M) period following preliminary acceptance. This project is part of BCGCL’s 2000 TPD Ammonium Nitrate Project at Lakhanpur, Jharsuguda district, Odisha.

BCGCL is a joint venture between Coal India holding 51, and BHEL with 49 percent ownership. The project aims to support BCGCL’s coal-to-chemical ventures, enhancing the infrastructure for coal gasification in India.
