The Odisha government plans to use the newly launched Urban Invest Window (UiWIN) to speed up the development of affordable housing and rental projects under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) 2.0.
The initiative, launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in November, aims to boost urban infrastructure financing and project execution across states and Union Territories. Odisha’s Housing and Urban Development Department has instructed municipal commissioners to understand the features of UiWIN to ensure the timely completion of urban projects. Subhananda Mohapatra, Mission Director of the Odisha Urban Housing Mission, highlighted that the state will develop projects in cities such as Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, and Paradip, where the demand for affordable homes is rising.
“The technology of Hudco will help us plan and complete the planned projects on time,” said an urban development official. The move is expected to attract investment and accelerate housing development in the state.
