ONGC Videsh and GAIL (India), on 3 October 2005,
signed an agreement with South Korea's Daewoo International for jointly acquiring 30 per
cent equity stake in the A-3 gas block in Myanmar.
OVL will have 20 per cent and GAIL will have 10
per cent in the exploration asset, while the Daewoo and Korea Gas (Kogas) will have 60 per
cent and 10 per cent respectively. Daewoo will be the operator of the field.
