Tata Power has inked an MoU with Tata Steel and Corus Staal BV for setting up
a 525 MW combined heat and power plant at Corus' IJmuiden works in the
Netherlands.
Under the MoU, Tata Power and Tata Steel are to set up a JV company to build,
own and operate the power plant. The facility will use most of the excess
production gases from the steel mills and convert them same into steam and
power.
The plant is slated to be completed in 2013 and partly replace the existing
power supply arrangement with another utility.
