The Union Ministry for Power is likely to invite qualifying bids for the
4,000 MW ultra mega power project (UMPP) at Surguja in Chhattisgarh this
financial year. This is the only UMPP for which bids are to be invited this
fiscal.
Earlier, the ministry had announced RFQs for three UMPPs -- Surguja
(Chhattisgarh), Bedabahal (Orissa) and Cheyyur (Tamil Nadu). PFC Consulting, the
wholly-owned subsidiary of PFC, is the nodal agency for these UMPPs.
