Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, Chief Minister of West Bengal, on 10 March 2010
inaugurated the Solar Photovoltaic Module manufacturing plant of Vikram Group of
Industries at Falta SEZ.
Vikram Solar has invested around Rs 100 crore in this project, which has an
initial capacity of 25 MW per annum. The company is already in the process of
expanding its capacity to 50 MW by mid-2010.
Meanwhile, the company has plans for backward integration in the form of
Wafer and Photovoltaic cell manufacturing with a total investment of Rs 500
crore.
