The Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC)
proposes to set up two gas based power plants of 1,000 MW capacity each in
Maharashtra at a total outlay of Rs 8,000 crore.
The Maharashtra Government has allotted 151 ha in Indapur industrial estate
near
Pune and 64 ha in Vile Bhagad industrial estate in
Raigad district for the proposed projects. While the Vile Bhagad site is 10
km away from the gas pipeline being laid by GAIL, the Indapur site is 50 km away
from Reliance Industries' pipeline to transport KG D6 gas.
IL&FS Energy has already prepared site reports for the proposed projects
which are expected to be completed in two and half years.
