Initial works has begun for the proposed Rs 700-crore multi product SEZ
coming up in Perambalur district of Tamil Nadu. GVK Perambalur SEZ is the
promoter of the project.
Around 3,072 acre has been acquired in the four panchayats of Thirumandurai,
Pennakonam South and North villages of Kunnam taluk and Peraiyur and Eraiyur of
Veppanthattai taluk for the SEZ. Also, a report is expected to be sent to the
MoEF soon for getting its approval for the SEZ.
