The Union Ministry of Finance has given its approval for a Rs 1,020 crore
loan from the World Bank to improve the acute drinking water situation in
Bhilwara district of Rajasthan.
The ministry has cleared the Chambal-Bhilwara Water Supply Project which will
benefit 1,600 villages, eight towns and the district headquarters. Under the
project, water will be drawn from the Chambal river to Bainsrodgarh.
