The World Bank (WB) is likely to extend an aid of Rs 108 crore for Kakinada
water supply augmentation scheme in Andhra Pradesh, under which a second water
supply project is to be taken up at Jagannadhapuram.
In July 2010, deepening works will be taken up on the Aratlakatta reservoir.
Nagarjuna Fertilisers and Chemicals, Reliance and Coromandel had come forward to
contribute for the desiltation scheme.
