UK based INEOS, a chemical company, is planning to set up a catalyst unit at
the Dahej SEZ in Gujarat.
The cost of the project is estimated at about Rs 1,000 crore initially and
the catalyst will cater to the company's clients in the eastern part of the
world.
Dahej SEZ is a JV between Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation and
ONGC. ONGC is setting up a Rs 12,440-crore petrochemical complex called ONGC
Petro-Additions. If INEOS sets up a catalyst plant here, ONGC is likely to be
able to directly consume from them and will get better yield, especially for its
HDPE/LDPE swing product.
