The Union Government has asked the Uttar Pradesh Government to clear land
acquisition in Bilhaur and Ghatampur in Kanpur Dehat district, in order to
overcome procedural delays in setting up two mega power plants.
Recently, the Union Government had approved two power plants, the 950 MW
coal based plant in Bilhaur and a 2,000 MW lignite based
plant in Ghatampur, both to be set up by NTPC.
