VS Lignite Power (VSLP), the SPV of KSK Energy Ventures, on 31 March 2010 commissioned its 135 MW lignite fired thermal plant in Rajasthan.

VSLP has entered into a power delivery agreement with various bulk consumers in Rajasthan and balance supplies to the local utility. SEPCO, China, was the EPC contractor for the project.

The lignite supplies for the project were being arranged from the Gurha East captive lignite block located in the Bikaner district. The entire requirement of one million tpa for the 135 MW plant will be procured from the captive mine. VSLP has entered into a mining lease agreement with the Rajasthan Government for a period of 30 years.

The Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam has permitted VSLP for long-term open access on the intra-state transmission and distribution system for transmission and distribution of power from its 135 MW plant.
