Avon Corporation, manufacturer of weighing scales for industries like
jewellery, pharma, retail, fitness, hospitals, hotels etc, plans to expand its
production capacity by setting up a new plant in Baddi, Himachal Pradesh.
The company proposes to invest Rs 125 crore in the plant. Since Baddi is a
tax free zone with no income tax or excise it allows Avon to reduce its
production costs by 35 per cent.
Currently, the company has an existing manufacturing plant in Baddi where
Avon manufactures the compact scales, platform scales, weighbridge & Tablet
Calculation Systems- Auto Feeders with SQC software.
